- Account details — name, email address, password (stored hashed), learning purpose, and optional profile photo.
- Learning activity — progress, completed lessons, exercise attempts, and preferences such as language or theme.
- Payment records — when you unlock A1–C2 we store enrollment status and payment metadata from providers (Razorpay / PayPal), such as transaction IDs and amount. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Technical data — basic logs (IP, browser type, timestamps) needed for security and reliability.
2. How we use information
- To create and manage your account and learner ID card
- To deliver free A0 content and paid A1–C2 materials after enrollment
- To process payments and send confirmation / receipt emails
- To improve the product, prevent abuse, and provide support
3. Sharing
We share data only with services that help us operate Cartoon French — for example payment processors (Razorpay, PayPal) and email delivery (Mailgun). We do not sell your personal information.
4. Cookies & local storage
We use session cookies for login security and local storage for preferences such as light/dark theme and language. You can clear these in your browser at any time.
5. Data retention
We keep account and learning data while your account is active. Payment records are retained as needed for accounting, fraud prevention, and legal requirements. You may request account deletion by contacting us.
6. Security
We use industry-standard practices (hashed passwords, CSRF protection, server-side access checks). No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; please use a strong unique password.
7. Children’s privacy
Cartoon French is a general learning product. If you believe a child has provided personal data without appropriate consent, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to remove it.
8. Your choices
- Update your profile photo and details from the dashboard Profile page
- Stay on free A0 without paying — paid enrollment is optional
- Request access or deletion of your account data by emailing support
